Snuggle
B2B Travel Insurance & Assistance Platform — Latin America
The project
Snuggle is a B2B travel insurance and assistance platform for insurance brokers and travel agencies across Latin America — live in production, running on a commission-based model and connected to insurance providers and payment gateways. Under the hood: a NestJS + MySQL/TypeORM API and Next.js frontends.
We stepped in at senior architecture level. First, a technical audit of the whole platform — four repositories — with every risk prioritised by business value. Then the work that keeps a live product safe: hardening the API's security without breaking production, and resolving an incident that left users unable to log in — finding the root cause and decoupling authentication from an external provider that was hanging.
We made third-party integrations resilient with absolute timeouts, a circuit breaker and concurrency limits; diagnosed a currency conversion bug that was affecting commissions and reports; and designed and reviewed a B2B financial module by API — immutable ledger, idempotency, issuance reconciliation and credit control. Every decision weighed cost: targeted surgery on legacy code instead of rewrites, followed by an orderly handover to the in-house team.
